We were thrilled when a local charity, Haven Youth Ranch, asked us to get involved and kindly donate some items to help their ponies through the winter. We gladly donated rubber matting to improve the stables and provide a non-slip flooring.

“My husband and I founded the charity in August 2021, combining a passion for the outdoor, horses and children’s wellbeing.
My background is equestrian, I currently work part time as a freelance groom (BHSQ foundation groom) and also as a nursery school assistant with a background of working also in primary schools. I personally have experienced the benefit to my wellbeing through being around and caring for horses, and from getting into the outdoors. Equine therapy and similar projects are on the increase, and there is a lot of demand.
Since we became a registered charity last year, we have been looking for a place to operate from, so as yet we have not been running sessions. However we have now secured a place in Kibworth and plan to begin offering sessions early Spring. We are a charity with a Christian ethos and our aim is to provide a peaceful safe haven in which disadvantaged children and young people can be themselves, grow in life skills and discover Christian values. We will do this through equestrian activities and interacting with our two ponies, Suski and Bruno, in an outdoor environment. Sessions will include grooming, handling the ponies, ridden experiences and stable management. Our sessions will run termly, each session being 60 – 90 minutes depending on the individual child.
We are connecting with local youth charities for referals, such as Home for Good, who support children in the care system and their foster/adoptive families. We have a passion to serve and support our local community so connecting with others is really important to us.”
